Cancellation & Refund Policy

1. Introduction

This Cancellation & Refund Policy explains how cancellations, ticket withdrawals, and refund requests are handled within the Gathrify mobile application. By using Gathrify’s event and ticket management features, you agree to the terms set forth in this Policy, alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

2. Gathrify’s Role

Gathrify acts as a digital platform that enables the creation, hosting, and management of events and tickets. We do not own or organize the events listed on the app. All event-related transactions are facilitated between Ticket Owners, Event Hosts, and Attendees, with Gathrify serving as a trusted intermediary.

3. Event and Ticket Cancellation Policy

If a Ticket Owner or Event Host cancels an event or ticket listing, they are responsible for promptly communicating the cancellation to all attendees and notifying the Gathrify team. In the event of a cancellation, the Ticket Owner or Event Host must determine whether a refund applies. If a refund is approved, the Ticket Owner shall direct the Gathrify team to initiate the refund process.

Gathrify will facilitate the refund solely as a technical intermediary through the same payment channel used for the original transaction. All refund decisions, amounts, and authorizations remain the exclusive responsibility of the Ticket Owner or Event Host. Gathrify does not determine refund eligibility, is not liable for refund disputes or payment delays, and does not assume ownership of funds at any stage. Unless otherwise stated by the Ticket Owner, all ticket purchases are considered non-refundable.

4. Attendee Cancellations

Attendees who purchase tickets do so with the understanding that all tickets are non-refundable unless stated otherwise by the ticket host. Attendees are encouraged to confirm the event’s refund eligibility with the organizer before making a purchase.

5. Refund Processing

Refunds are initiated solely at the direction of the Ticket Owner or Event Organizer. Gathrify does not independently issue or authorize refunds. When a refund has been approved by the Ticket Owner, Gathrify may facilitate or technically initiate the refund through the same authorized payment channel used for the original transaction. Refund processing times may vary based on the payment provider’s procedures and the Ticket Owner’s approval timeline. Gathrify’s role in this process is limited to technical facilitation; all financial and refund responsibilities remain with the Ticket Owner.

7. Platform or Technical Errors

If a payment-related issue arises due to a technical or system error on Gathrify’s platform, our support team will promptly review and address the matter to ensure proper resolution. Users may be required to provide supporting evidence, such as payment receipts, transaction references, or event details, to assist in verifying and resolving the issue.

8. Gathrify’s Right to Cancel or Suspend Events

Gathrify reserves the right to suspend or remove any event, ticket, or user account found to be in violation of our Terms of Service, involved in fraudulent activity, or deemed unsafe for participants. In such cases, ticket holders will be notified, and refunds (if applicable) will be handled directly by the ticket issuer.

9. Governing Law

This policy is recognized globally but governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
